Who We Are

Watersong Media is a videography company based in Champaign-Urbana and Chicago, Illinois, that specializes in creating intimate videos focused on storytelling, whether it’s for your business, your wedding, or your music.

Anthony Zilis and Randy Daniels began making videos together in college, but their paths diverged.

Anthony became a newspaper journalist. While he started as a writer, he gravitated to videography and eventually branched into photography. Twice in four years, he won first place in the national Associated Press Sports Editors’ contest for short documentaries, one on a nationally-ranked girls’ basketball player coming back from a devastating injury and another on the storied Illinois wheelchair basketball team. He won first place in the 2018 Illinois Press Association’s contest for another short documentary that followed a day in the life of a local homeless man. Through that work, he’s developed a knack for asking the right questions and developing compelling storylines. He’s also a Part 107-certified drone pilot.

Randy has worked as a freelance artist in videography, photography, and music. His creativity allows him to find shots that others wouldn’t. He currently works as the videographer and editor for Parmita Katkar’s “Blush With Me” YouTube channel, where he’s racked up millions of views from her 1 million + subscribers on videos that cover fashion and lifestyle. He developed skills in audio production with his band, Jetpack Hotline, which allows him to weave music into our stories capture the emotion and tone of a given moment.
